On The Move for Veterans
Get the SitRep on Tulsa's New Joint Operation
Activate Oklahoma and the Coffee Bunker have combined forces to deploy tools and resources to benefit veterans to improve and manage their mental health with a whole person approach. The AO (area of operation) is a family-friendly and supportive environment using a social walk/run, couch to 5K, training program. Our On the Move program utilizes community-building through social connection and physical exercise to improve emotional and mental health.
This run-walk program will help you determine and achieve YOUR own fitness goals to cross the finish line feeling strong. It is designed to demonstrate the physical, mental, and social health benefits of a focused training program. This is NOT a "mandatory fun" effort, having fun is a natural result of participating with Activate Oklahoma.
Our On the Move training program includes:
- Work your way to finishing a 5K or 1-Mile Fun Run.
- Experienced run/walk leaders.
- 2 group workouts per week.
- Weekly email with training advice.
- Start at your current fitness level and train at your own pace.
- Training schedule is determined by selected 5K goal events throughout the year.
Join us:
- First block begins Feb 4 2025. Dates and times will be Tuesdays at 6:00pm and Thursday at 12:00pm
- Begin at any time during the year, the program is designed to accomodate any level
- Program is FREE!
- Registeration is required to help keep you informed of changes/updates throughout the program.
